#13

Ladies and gents, we have officially made it 13 months. And less than 11 to go! Can you believe it? It is strange to think about, but every month that passes makes me more excited to see him! He is doing well in Argentina! He has a good companion... from Canada. His comp wants a girlfriend hahaha They are funny together. Klay sends voice recordings and his comp talks in some of them. I have just been writing letters, working, and occasionally hanging out with some good friends. This memorial day we had our annual back yard campout and Klay's family came. It is always fun to see them :) Next year he will get to come!! eeeeep!!!! :) These are the treasures he sent me in his last letter :)

13 month poem :)

"none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken" poor klay... he needs new shoes.

Feliz Cumpleanos a tu!

I am so late posting it but it was Klay's birthday!! I was so excited for him to finally open the package that I sent him, he has been enjoying all of the goodies that were in it. From the pictures he sent, it looks like someone made him a cake for his birthday! :) That makes me so happy. It is hard not being able to be there to spoil him for his birthday, but it is good to know there are people there taking care of him. So happy birthday Klay :) enjoy being the big 2 0 :) We will celebrate the next one!

Today was the day

Last year today was the first day I was without Klay. And it was terrible. But! That was a year ago, and it seems like just yesterday. I can't believe how well I have done without him... I have had some bad days and it is obviously hard to be without him, but I have learned to be independent. I have learned that I don't need him, but I want him. So here is my #throwbackwednesday to when I couldn't help but watch his plane basically the whole way to make sure he got to Argentina safely :) Can't wait to watch it fly back :)

Thinking

Is it possible to always be thinking about someone? Yes. I am experiencing it. I think about him when I sleep, when I am lonely, when I'm having fun wishing he was with me, when I'm with his family, when I go to weddings, when I check the mail, when I watch a movie, on Mondays waiting for a most precious email, when I see a happy couple, when I eat betos or guacamole, when I pray, when I make decisions, and when I just think about him. And even when I'm not thinking about him, I'm still thinking about him. There is always a part of me wondering what he is doing at that exact moment, wondering if he is sad or happy, crying or laughing, teaching or studying. It KILLS me to not have him here. One of my friends I met at college was looking at pictures of me and klay and she said, "you look SO happy!" With him I was. I am still happy, but it's just a lot different. He had a way of making me feel so happy, like everything was perfect. He could make me smile when I was mad and he would hug me when I was sad. I get a glimpse of that when I get his letters and emails, and I love it, I wouldn't go two years without it. This past year has taught me that I can live without him, it is possible, life goes on... but I would NEVER choose to live the rest of my life without him because I know how happy he makes me, and how much I truly love him and want him around forever, not just this life. So elder kelsey, please hurry home :)

1 YEAR!!!

The day has finally come and I can now officially say, he comes home in less than a year!!!! Yesterday marked his release date and I am beyond excited. It doesn't seem like it has been a year, and everyone says the last year goes by faster! so i'm just hoping that it really speeds by.  I want him here with me again! :) We have both grown in different ways this past year, and I know we will continue to grow in the next year. That special day of his return is coming and I can't express how happy that makes me. :) I don't get to send him a ton of packages, but I sent one for his halfway mark/birthday and it turned out pretty cute, i was proud of it :) I hope he and his companion enjoy all the goodies :) It is halfway done so i only sent half the candies, clever huh? ;) (But really I sent more than half cause i felt mean taking out half the bag!)

P.s. read the continued poem here
He really likes black licorice :)

So he and elder bravo can party it up :)

Birthday kisses :)

This is 20 letters from 20 of his closest friends and family! I know for his birthday he would love to hear from everyone so I got his family, my family, and a few of his friends to write letters. Thank you to everyone who wrote one!! :)

Stickers for him :) I also got him a CTR ring and put it in the envelope so it wouldn't get stolen.

feliz cumpleanos elder kelsey :)

General Conference

I don't know about you, but i thoroughly enjoyed General Conference :) I have never been more excited to listen to it! Usually I'm just excited that I don't have to wake up and get ready for church ;) but this year I was truly excited to listen to the leaders of our church, especially our wonderful prophet President Monson! If you haven't watched it yet, GO WATCH IT! really it was amazing. Elder Richard G. Scott even mentioned how his wife encouraged and then waited for him to go on a mission! I wrote in my notes, "SHE WAITED!!!" haha it's always encouraging to hear of stories where it works out :) The only session I didn't watch is the priesthood session, but I would love to watch it to see what the men were taught, I can't wait to write letters to elder kelsey about it and to hear from him about what he learned!
I didn't make these memes, but I found them on pinterest and they are a great reminder of some of the things that were said!
